I recently found this inscription in a 1940's miniature English-Castilian dictionary, and thought it would be perfect for Valentines Day.
"To Cuddles, from your ever-lovin' bright eyes.
Till the end of time.
Your Red Head Doll xxx"
In 1855, the Medical & Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland changed its by-laws to include both Black and Women physicians. Prior to that, they had read "gentlemen" members, which obviously didn't apply to women, and at the time, it also did not apply to Blacks.
