Eldridge E. Wolff
was born in 1874 near Winchester, Virginia and graduated from the University of
Maryland.
In 1900, he
moved to Cambridge, Maryland and built up a very heavy medical practice. In
1917, he became a member of the State Board of Medical Examiners and conducted numerous
medical autopsies. He was a member of that board until his death when he was
vice president.
In 1932, Dr.
Wolff was elected as President of the Medical & Chirurgical Faculty. During
his tenure, he gave numerous speeches. Additionally, he was the former
president of the Dorchester County Medical Association.
In Cambridge,
Dr. Wolff was a member of the staff at the Cambridge Maryland Hospital.
Friends said
that Dr. Wolff’s unstinting devotion to his work was the cause of his death at
age 59 on November 7, 1933.
