G. Milton Linthicum

George Milton Linthicum was born on August 17, 1870, and was married on April 12, 1898 to Lillian Noyes Howland. He attended St. John’s College in Annapolis. He became a prominent surgeon, and professor of physiology and proctology at Baltimore Medical College from 1895-97. He was also coroner of Baltimore City for a time.
He was vice-president of the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty from 1908-09 and became president in 1909-10.
Prior to World War I, he was with National Guard along the Mexican Border in 1916 where he achieved the rank of lieutenant-colonel. During World War, from 1917-19, Dr. Linthicum was a member of the Medical Corps, United States Army and Commanding Officer at Base Hospital No. 113, at Savenay, France.
Dr. Linthicum was a member of the prominent Maryland family after which the town of Linthicum, Maryland is named. It is located just south of Baltimore, close to BWI Airport.
