Albert E. Goldstein

Albert Goldstein was born in New York City in 1887. He attended schools in New Haven, Connecticut, including the Sheffield Scientific School at Yale University, where he also studied medicine. However, he graduated from University of Maryland’s School of Medicine, specializing in urology. He became an instructor of pathology at the University of Maryland and taught there for more than 25 years. He was also the President of the School of Medicine’s Alumni Association, as was his son.
For more than 45 years, Dr. Goldstein was associated with Baltimore’s Sinai Hospital, mainly as Chief of the Urology division. He became an internationally-known urologic surgeon and his articles were published in myriad medical publications.
Dr. Goldstein was a member of the Baltimore City, Baltimore County and Maryland State Medical Societies, of the American Medical Association, the American Urological Association and the Southern Medical Association and was also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He served as President of the Medical & Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland in 1964.
