Virtual Tour of Baltimore's Historic Hospitals

Please join me for a virtual tour of Baltimore's historic hospitals on Friday, December 4 at 1:00 p.m. (EST). In a joint program with the Baltimore Architecture Foundation, where I served as President for several years, I will be introducing some of the more unusual hospitals in Baltimore, as well as a few we all know.

Several years ago, I began charting what is essentially a family tree of hospitals that operated in Baltimore, which ones disappeared, which ones merged, and which still survive.

Digging deeply into MedChi's extensive archives, I will be sharing
historic engravings and photographs, portraits from our art collection, as well as contemporary images, and maybe a few stories.

For details on the virtual lecture, or to reserve tickets, please click here. The event is free, but contributions to the Baltimore Architecture Foundation are welcomed.

  1. Hello Meg, Is that 2AM time for the lecture correct? And why CST? Will there be a video of it available afterwards?

I would really love to hear this talk. Not only are you the best possible speaker for this, but I have found that many hospitals were founded in old houses, and historic photos are the only way to see these as the houses themselves were razed as the hospitals grew or foundered.

  2. Hey! It's 1:00 p.m. EST, so probably in the middle of the night for you. It was probably giving it to you in your time!

The videos of the previous ones are on the Architecture Foundation's YouTube page, and this one will be, as well!
